Sadly human waste (sewerage) is still discharged into several tributaries, such as Tramway Reserve, which flow into Lake Ellesmere- Te Waihora- a wetland of international importance- surely we can do better?

Dead livestock in lowland waterways such as at Prices Stream continues to be a major water pollution issue. ECAN have been alerted of this event. Disease outbreaks are likely from livestock left in waterways.
